here is my question
Michael, how have you been able to stay so grounded. I have talked to many players, and some, not all seem to have a little bit of a big head but, not you. You just seem to not conform to what is popular and have stuck to your guns all these years. I just wanted to know if anything has help you on your guitar journey in this area.

I always wanted a companion dvd for the 25 jazz progressions with 25 jazz solos, outlining the ideas, the modes etc used too

is there ever a possibility this will happen, i know you have thought about it after being asked before

My Question:

In Paul Gilbert's first instructional video, he stated that he didn't really understand the concept of arpeggios until he moved out to L.A. and saw what the guys in the clubs were doing. My question is did you learn & understand the concept of arpeggios & sweeps early in your playing career, and did you have to learn them on your own; seeing as though it was the days before there were a million different arpeggio lessons on youtube?

Yes, it 's a three part video production. 2 of the 3 are complete (I know 'cuz I seen 'em) and it's almost finished. It will be posted shortly on the Dean site
